Located in the historic city center of Stellenbosch, Avemore Jan Kats 5 is a fully equipped self-catering apartment. It comes with a fully equipped kitchen with a washing machine, a stove and a dishwasher. The spacious lounge offers leather couches and a plasma TV with selected satellite channels. The apartment has air conditioning, electric blankets and a safe. Jan Cats is serviced with a lift and offers free secure parking. Free WiFi is available throughout. The Stellenbosch Town Hall is 190 metres away and Eikestad Mall is 4 minutes' walk from the apartment.

Please note, the rates advertised are subject to the number of rooms guests will use. The number of bedrooms allocated to guests are determined by the number of guests booked (2 Guests per Bedroom). Conveniently located in town above the coffee shops.

The apartment was beautifully decorated, clean, well equipped and extremely comfortable. The balcony overlooks the street with all the restaurants and coffee shops. And was within walking distance to the shopping mall, movies and gym.
Another vehicle parked in our allocated parking bay. Hence we were forced to park in the street that night.

Poor communication & incorrect street number!

Loved the location. We didn't mind the noise which added to the vibe of being in the centre of Stellenbosch.
We asked for the street number as opposed to the 2 street corner names as my GPS doesn't work on street corner names and were given the totally wrong street number in the total opposite direction and we landed up driving up and down in peak hour Friday, month end traffic for an hour and a half and when asked again was also misdirected & were eventually was told that someone would meet us to show us, directions only to be told the person had seen us but their phone battery must have gone flat as they weren't answering. It was frustrating and very unprofessional and many phone calls later. The shop who had our key was closing. Surely she should know the street address!

Traumlage im Zentrum von Stellenbosch

Lage, Lage, Lage: einmaliger Blick vom Balkon auf die Church Street. Schönster Platz om Atadtzentrum überhaupt.
Zwischen 7:30 morgens und 22 Uhr abends kann man die Fenster nicht lffnen wegen unerträglicher Gerüche vom Groll und Müll vom Java-Cafe im Erdgescgoss. Ist aber bei grosser Hitze sowieso besser. Gute Klimaanlage in allen Zmmern gleichen diesen Nachteil nehr als aus.

The location was excellent looking over Chursch st
The floor of the verandah was very dirty. We only had one key for 4 adults which was difficult with the no of security doors into the building. We had to co-ordinate coming and going.

Comfortable and well-equipped

Elana was extremely helpful and efficient in the way the booking was managed. It's an excellent idea that the porter from the hotel next door also helps at Avemore. The apartment is very comfortable, well-equipped including a dish washer and washing machine - and both work! It is well-placed for bars, restaurants and the range and variety of small shops that characterise the central area of Stellenbosch. There is of course some noise from the street but this doesn't seem to be too intrusive. After around 10-30 to 11-00pm it is very quiet and it feels safe and secure. Overall, a very pleasant stay and I will be returning there on future visits.
I'm searching for something to write here and have now given up!
