There is really nice theme all over the place. You can feel like you're literally in the Backstage.
It wasn't very clean and most of it was aged. They need to re-paint their walls and tidy it up a bit more.

Quirky, cool and cosy hotel that I'd definitely recommend.

Rooms were cosy and clean. Beds were comfortable and the shared shower was spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful and the bluetooth speaker included with the room was a nice extra. The room was decorated with cool artwork and had a dressing table with excellent lighting and 3 mirrors in the room (total bonus if you are a female that needs to do your makeup like we did).
Toilet was a little small and the light in the shower was on auto and kept turning off which was a little annoying but still functioned perfectly fine when I waved my arm for it to come back on. Be warned there are no lifts and the stairs are steep but the hotel listing mentions that anyway and we were well prepared. The hotel was about a 20 minute walk from the city centre and red light district but when Amsterdam is so pretty you don't really mind. There were quite a few shops and places to eat nearby the hotel anyway so there were plenty of options. The only negative was the price. It was quite expensive for what it was, especially compare to other similar accommodation around Europe

We liked the location.
The sewage smell in the bathroom on the 4th floor was awful. The staircase is also very tiny and difficult to carry a suitcase up, even if your suitcase is small.

A great, affordable unique hotel close to nightlife

Very close to one of the main squares for nightlife, a very good location for the price, and a very unique hotel experience. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Nothing! We had a room with its own bathroom, at the cost of being on the top floor with very steep stairs. Standard in buildings in Amsterdam. Good exercise for the legs.

I loved how really nice and genuine the staff are. The room was really clean and the location is amazing with only a 2 min straight walk to a large open area with loads of shops, restaurants, bars, clubs and coffee shops. I would definitely say here again! Also the really affordable and actually very nice breakfast was really good.
My only problem I had was having my room on the basement level and having the window on road level was really really noisy at all hours of the day weather it was cars or people but they do off ear plugs in the reception and a fan in the room so you can have the windows closed witch makes a huge difference!

I like this buildings appearance itself was lovely in comparison to others! We had a corner room with a balcony which overlooked the canals was gorgeous. Reception check in and out was all very relaxed. Staff very helpful if needed anything, spoke good English. Only round the corner from shops and food places.
It was a bit noisy for me but I would expect that anywhere in Amsterdam as the trams are going all night. However you can buy ear plugs that are brilliant block out all the noise altogether.

Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist wirklich super. Das Personal wirklich nett. Alles sauber, auch bei der gemeinsamen Dusche und Toilette. Der Name ist Programm: die Einrichtung ist wirklich sehr originell. Ins Stadtzentrum kommt ihr mit der Bahn oder auch in ca. 20 min zu Fuß. Eine offline Karte von Google ist von Vorteil, aber ihr bekommt auch Auskunft und eine Karte vom Hotel. Wenn ihr mit dem Auto anreist, dann lasst euch vom Personal erklären wo die billigere Parkzone ist. Viel Spaß in Amsterdam!
In Amsterdam ist jedes Gebäude sehr hellhörig. Ohrenstöpsel mitnehmen! Parken ist sehr teuer.

Schöner Aufenthalt, gerne wieder!

Die Lage ist ideal im Westen in der Nähe des Stadtzentrums. Zimmer wurden tagsüber gereinigt, im Zimmer konmte man kaum den Lärm von draußen hören. Zwei Ventilatoren, Handtücher, Duschgel und Fernseher waren im Zimmer, außerdem genug Steckdosen.
Das steile Treppenhaus war anstrengend zu benutzen, mit wenig Gepäck jedoch kein Problem und in Amsterdam wohl unverzichtbar auf so engem Raum.

We received a warm welcome and the staff were very helpful and kind in answering any questions we had and providing directions. Everything of interest to us was within walking distance and we were able to leave our luggage on the day we checked out so we could still spend the afternoon unhindered by our luggage. Highly recommended!
Can be a bit noisy as the room looked out directly onto quite a busy street and the walls seem to be very thin so the sound carries. Other than that no concerns whatsoever.

Super Frühstück,nette und einfallsreiche Zimmer- und Frühstücksraum-Gestaltung, nettes Personal. Zentrale Lage.
Parken in der Nähe unglaublich teuer. Ging aber unter Nutzung eines Park amd Ride Parkhauses und Nutzung der Straßenbahn. Das ist halt so in Amsterdam.
