Friendly staff willing to spend time talking to you make one feel at home.

Unasked, the staff provided a map of Haarlem including details of places to see. There was a fridge in a common area with wine for sale as well as complementary fruit, coffee and tea.
Staff of a restaurant adjacent to the hotel were noisy at night for a short time but enough to wake me.

Отель прекрасно расположен в пяти минутах ходьбы до центральной площади. Очень приветливые хозяева. Не только сделали пребывание в отеле удобным, но и рассказали какие интересные места можно посетить, снабдив небольшой картой. Продуманность во всем, начиная с интерьера и заканчивая завтраками. Приятная возможность в любой момент попить чай в уютной гостиной с видом на старинную улицу. Там же утром сервируется очень вкусный завтрак. Единственное, чего не хватило, так это еще нескольких дней, чтобы подольше оставаться в этом чудесном городе в таком гостеприимном и уютном доме.

Excellent accommodation in central Haarlem

Annemarie and Henk were so pleasant and helpful and made us feel that we were special people. The location was excellent, just a few minutes walk to the Groote Markt and St. Bavokerk. The breakfast was very good and the room was clean and bright and well designed. We have stayed in seven different locations across the Netherlands on this trip and Hotel Malts was the best. We will certainly stay at Hotel Malts when we are next in Haarlem.
Temperatures were 30C+ for the four days we stayed at Hotel Malts and sleeping was difficult because the hotel rooms gradually heated up; Hotel Malts does not have air conditioning. Although these were unusually high temperatures, air conditioning will have to be installed in the future as climate change takes hold and high temperatures become more frequent.

Locatie was uitstekend, zeer vriendelijk onthaald. Uitstekende uitleg over activiteiten in Haarlem. Ontbijt was geweldig, zelfs de verjaardag van mijn vrouw was niet vergeten! Slingers en een apart gedekte tafel! Kamer was super ruim en zeer comfortabel. Midden in het centrum maar dit is niet te merken aangezien het zeer rustige kamers zijn.

Lekker ontbijt met eigen yoghurt varia. Leuke tips van de eigenaar, boottocht door Haarlem is een aanrader! Perfect in het centrum. Donkere gordijnen ;-)
Inchecktijd leek eerst wat beperkt maar bleek later ruimer via zelf inchecksetvice.

Friendly, helpful, multilingual hosts. Good breakfast. Modernised, comfortable rooms. Fast, secure wi-fi.
Stairs! They really are steep and narrow and there is no lift. Not good if you have bad knees or are unfit. We were fine but my elderly uncle found it hard going. The noise from the bar across the street (on Saturday night only) was not a problem for us because weather was cool and we could close the sound-proof window, but this could be a problem in hot weather as there is no air conditioning.

Henk and Anne Marie were extremely friendly and most helpful with breakfast diets and organising trips round Haarlem and to nearby cities. Large bedroom with plenty of room to meet up with friends. Free tea and coffee in breakfast room, also good meeting place. Honesty bar as well.
