Hotel De Doelen is uniquely situated at the Rapenburg, one of the most beautiful canals in the Netherlands. The hotel is situated in an ancient Patrician mansion, built in 1638. Hotel De Doelen is situated in the centre of Leiden, near Museums, the Academic Building and faculties of Leiden University. The hotel is 10 minutes walking distance from the railway station. Hotel De Doelen has 18 rooms, each supplied with shower, toilet, telephone and television. It also has free wireless internet throughout.

Please note that the preferred arrival time by the hotel is between 12.00 - 16.00. In case of arrival out side of these hours the property asks its guest to let them know in advance.

Spent 1 night. Great location, kind&friendly welcome and service, small but clean room, kept my luggage after check-out without any fee. Wish I had a room with a canal view. Highly recommended in Leiden

My host was kind and helped me with my luggage. He also moved me to a room with a double bed instead of the single tiny bed I was supposed to sleep in.
The room is not sound proved at all! I could hear my neighbors above so loud. Basically, my room didn't look like the one on the pictures. Very very basic.

Relaxe eigenaar, je mist niets. Voelt een beetje als logeren bij oma. Krantje bij het ontbijt. Persoonlijk.
Hier en daar wat lage, maar zeer fraaie en authentieke, houten balken.

Die Lage ist sehr gut. Ich hatte ein Zimmer unter dem Dach, welches durch eine relativ niedrige Zwischendecke in einen Schlafbereich ohne Fenster und einen Aufenthaltsbereich geteilt wurde. Die niedrige Decke lässt einen sich manchmal den Kopf stossen. Vorteil: Es war sehr ruhig. Das Frühstück ist ordentlich, der Inhaber sehr nett.
Das Badezimmer ist recht klein, der allgemeine Zustand des Zimmers renovierungsbedürftig.

De hoge waardering is voor de luxe slaapkamer die we pas kregen nadat wij niet tevreden waren over onze eerste kamer. Daarin was niets te veel moeite om ons tevreden te stellen. Heel goed en fijn opgelost.
Als je langer dan 1 meter 90 bent raad ik u aan niet een slaapkamer te nemen op de 2e verdieping. De kamers hebben prachtige steunbalken door de kamer lopen, maar ze zijn nogal laag!!!! Maar zoals ik al zei, nadien perfect opgelost door ons naar de 1e verdieping te verplaatsen.

Very convenient location fronting onto an attractive canal, pleasant and helpful staff, nice old building.
There is no lift and the stairs are steep, so potentially a problem for the less nimble although staff offered assistance with baggage.

Fraai historisch pand, ideaal gelegen in het centrum van Leiden. Kleinschalig en sfeervol. De kamers worden goed schoon gehouden.
Je mist een gezellige zithoek, waar je nog wat na kunt praten met een hapje en een drankje.

Locatie is super, historisch oud gebouw.
Haastige schoonmaak, er ontbraken enkele dingen in de badkamer! Meer aandacht hiervoor zou fijn zijn.
