W had a big room with a balcony, a comfortable bed
House keeping could be better had spider webs in the bath room. Room price a bit high for above ground room

Lovely place to stay but a bit pricey

4.40/5.0
Great for the experience of staying underground. Quiet room and the WiFi worked. The cafe and the bar were good, staff were friendly.
A bit pricey which is the only reason we didn't stay again on the way back home.

A great place to stay

5.00/5.0
Friendly efficient staff, incredibly helpful. Underground room well thought out - comfortable beds, lots of room, so quiet, and nightlight if needed. Amazing breakfast.
We didn't like all the stairs to the restaurant but have since found out that there are 2 other ways up there for disabled guests.

Outstanding staff

4.60/5.0
Bed was very comfortable and room was very clean. Reception staff were very courteous and helpful. Restaurant waitress was outstanding. Her name was Maneka (sorry about spelling) and she deserves a mention. We travelled with two kids, one toddler and one infant and her assistance to us meant we had a stress free dinner in the hotel restaurant,Umberto's. Coffees in Crystal Cafe were also very good and even though we missed breakfast by 10minutes, the cafe staff were very obliging and allowed us to order from the breakfast menu.

Desert rooms not primitive!

4.40/5.0
1. Provision of Gideon Bible was appreciated. 2. Appreciated notice of lack of water in desert environment. 3. Great staff, esp Robert, who took care of us in the conference room, and unlocked door to the passageway to the rooms a little early. 4. Courtesy bus from airport (made private arrangements to airport).
1. You have soap/body wash & hair care... could you think about toothbrush & paste, and shaving implements. 2.Multiple levels via stairs (some steep). 3. Three levels of stairs to Umberto's and conference room. 4. When I booked via internet I could not see underground rooms to book... only above ground. 5. My room was labeled 'Queen', I could not see that description when I was looking at you website.

Best outback motel

5.00/5.0
This is a great motel. We had an above ground room and it was huge, spotlessly clean and well equiped. The fine dining restaurant is a lovely surprise...very good food and professional service. Quite unexpected for the locality.

Overall, an excellent stay in comfortable accommodation in central and convenient location

5.00/5.0
The accommodation was in excellent condition and extremely comfortable. Café and restaurant on site made the stay even more enjoyable for their convenience and location
More facilities for mobility impaired. Too many stairs and extremely difficult to get upstairs to Umberto's Restaurant. Need a lift and more details on website on which rooms/facilities are suitable for disability

Exceptional

4.80/5.0
The luxury in a most unlikely environment! The quality of dinner in the restaurant - wonderful!
Nothing really. The price was high, but that is to be expected in such a remote location.

Thanks for nothing

3.35/5.0
The room was fine.
Booking.com stuffed my booking and instead of getting the two rooms I booked, I got one room and a fold up bed. Despite three emails to Booking.com, no one has had the courtesy to respond to me.

Friendly staff, great atmosphere

We were late arriving and couldnt contact them by phone but our room had been saved and staff were friendly.
The stairs to the rooms above ground were a bit steep to take heavy cases up!

Pretty good for Coober Pedy

4.15/5.0
The Restaurant food was very nice. The rooms were dated but in very good condition and very large.
The desk staff took a written copy of credit card details rather than pre-authorising. This is a security issue and they did not seemed concerned when asked about it.

Our stay at Coober Peddy was different, and very interesting

4.40/5.0
The underground walk through museum was excellent, overall an interesting experience. This was very different to other places we have stayed, was fascinating, worth the stoppover!
The restaurant we felt was overpriced for what you get on the plate.

Legitimately underground rooms, fun novel experience with fantastic onsite restaurant.

4.80/5.0
the room was legitimately underground, carved out using a machine. room had a great vibe but didn't echo, which was a unexpected surprise. Extremely authentic, comfortable, somehow still got phone reception and WIFI! short walk from the shops and service station, fantastic onsite restaurant, fantastic food at a good price.
the car park could maybe be a little better ordered? seriously nit picking to find a negative, this place was great!

The under ground opal mining museum/

3.95/5.0
The under ground opal mining museum/bar/cafe is amazing. Worth half of what they charge for your room.

overpriced and noisy

2.90/5.0
Restaurant was very good.
Having a band that attracted drunk locals with fighting and a stabbing. Noise of drunks. Teenagers racing up and down stairs near our room. Rocks thrown at our car in the car park.

Disappointing!

3.15/5.0
The location was excellent, central to eating places and shopping.
What was once a nice place to stay was not well maintained. The Underground shop was closed, areas were blocked and dirty.

my above ground experience

3.95/5.0
pity I didn't get an underground room, it was implied by the advert that all rooms were underground and the desert inn was the most expensive of all the other hotels who advertised genuine underground rooms - so I thought by paying the extra I would have the best experience...so a little disappointing.

It was comfortable but on the average side

3.15/5.0
The motel was fairly close to most attractions. Room was average but clean
Office staff were not very welcoming. If anything nondescript to questions , He couldn't be bothered with anything even giving a receipt for our payment had to be asked for

Interessant, in einem underground-Zimmer zu übernachten!

4.60/5.0
