If you want to relax and chill out...stay at Dona Sylvia !!

4.40/5.0
The buffet - breakfast & lunch. The surroundings were well maintained with a generous touch of greenery which was a feast for the eyes. A very comfy place to stay at & makes you feel to spend more time at the resort :)
The dinner buffet. I suggest that the bulbs used can be upgraded to LED ones which will make it a more energy efficient property.

The overall hotel is tired and needs a make over.

3.35/5.0
The lobby to hotel looks impressive with comfortable furniture and the pool in the background. The pool is a good size. The trees, bushes and overall landscape is very pretty. The note from the cleaner and the handmade biscuits was a nice touch.
Having to pay in full before we could check in was tiresome, we wanted to pay cash not by credit card. No wi-fi in the room and the wi-fi in the lobby was woeful with constant dropouts and a 30 minute time limit requiring a new password each time. The pool furniture has seen better days, the sunbeds are old and decrepit, there are not enough umbrellas or sunbeds. The witches hats and plastic chain around the deeper pool is an eyesore. Plenty of noise from the renovations made the pool area unpleasant and far from relaxing. The bridge across the pool is rusted and decaying. The overall feel of the hotel is that it is tired and dated. Big black crows were able to get into the breakfast dining room despite the ugly white netting around the perimeter. Some of the breakfast staff could smile more and be more enthusiastic.

Very pleasant beach hotel. Pity getting there is unpleasant

3.75/5.0
The pool was wonderful and the grounds were well kept and pleasant. The staff were attentive and polite. The food was tasty, though I would have liked some bacon and pork sausage for breakfast. It was very Indian, but then this was India and it was amongst the best Indian food I have had.
The main problem was the distance from the airport over poorly maintained and crowded roads. The was an article in a Goan paper the other day saying that the government had to do something to improve the roads, particularly the coastal roads or tourists would be put off, and this is one tourist who was put off the the poor transport, which meant that I didn't want to travel really anywhere, though I did go and see Old Goa, but one ride was enough and so I stayed in the resort for the rest of the time

If you want to relax, this is the place you're looking for. Nice and clean.
Staff don't have much knowledge when asked questions about sight seeing and transport. Wifi is not available in rooms. Free wifi is only available in cafe areas. It would be good if staff is a little more friendly. I ordered food late night and i was asked to Pay in cash - rather they could have charged it to my credit card.

Great property but rooms could be better

3.95/5.0
Beautiful property with lots of activities within the resort itself, close to the beach
The superior rooms are a bit old and plumbing is out of date. The cab service arranged by the hotel is a bit expensive and they do not allow cabs from other service providers to enter the hotel to pick you up. When we had to travel, the hotel first quoted a particular rate and then after the travel backtracked and said the rates were almost Rs 1100 higher despite us cross checking twice.

Relaxing and peaceful space for Leisure. One of the best in south Goa.

4.40/5.0
The facilities and ambience was really good. The location is ideal for a resort as it centered in south goa and very located in Colva beach having their own private space in the beach.
The Dinner and Lunch buffet prices were little overpriced in my opinion taking the spread of food. Felt Al la Carte was better option.

Grounds were well kept. Pool area was very nice. Food was good and reasonable price. Restaurant entertainment was very good.
Room was small. View was poor for the price. Staff were micromanaged causing a lot to confusion and delay. No in-house laundry. Bathroom had limited hot water. Restaurant manager and supervisors were not organized

Well organised, friendly staff, great location with direct access to the beach.
Weak and patchy WiFi in the rooms. We visited in off season, so in-house dining options were limited to one single restaurant.

Better resorts near by

2.50/5.0
The location to the main road, other restaurants, other bars and resorts and beach was very good. Also the apartment AC was good.
A lot of rules when you could and couldn't use facilities eg pool. Staff were rude and the service inconsistent with hidden costs and taxes. Construction to half the resort was in progress. False advertising eg internet which you pay for by the hour and it is poor quality. Also advertises 3 restaurants but only 1 open same with bars. Hammocks btwn trees are just for show - and made of hard coarse rope you can't use.

Mixed emotions for this hotel.

4.40/5.0
Nice pool and gardens. Breakfast buffet was excellent.
The construction was immediately beside our room (jackhammers!). Wifi was chargeable, limited and unreliable. Dinner in the restaurant took forever if you didn't opt for the buffet. Over priced considering construction and off season.

Beautiful garden (although one has to wonder what the environmental cost is of constatly be watering during the day. The rest of Goa is pretty dry as it is the dry season). Good location near the beach. The breakfast buffet is big and there is a loot of choice. Room was fine, but like a normal hotel room.
We ate at their fine dining restaurant one night and while the staff were very nice, the restaurant itself was cold (air-con), not very cosy (softer lighting and some candles on the tables would have nice) and the food wasn't any better than at any of the simple beach restaurants we had been to. We ordered the local white wine and they had to try to "emergency chill" it as they did not have a cold bottle.

A week in paradise.

3.75/5.0
Stunning location. Beautiful gardens lead you to a pristine, wide sandy beach. There are plenty of shacks and sunbeds on the beach but it's not over crowded, unlike beaches in North Goa and Colva. No blaring music either, so it's really quite perfect. Our room was cosy and very comfortable, with tea and coffee making facilities, replenished daily or whenever required, a small fridge and a digital safe. All very useful. Our complimentary litre bottles of water were also replenished free of charge. I borrowed an iron and board on our last day and they left it with me overnight. We had a lovely terrace with a table and chairs overlooking a lawn and coconut trees. Staff in the Seagull restaurant are so hard working and smiley. Special thanks to Chris and Tushar who were ever helpful and looked after us at breakfast every day. How they all manage to work so hard and still smile is beyond me! There was a wide variety of western and Indian choices for breakfast. A couple of chefs prepare eggs to order and there is a toast making station with an attentive toast person churning out hot white or brown slices. The reception area was very pleasant, a large open space with high ceiling fans and a very tropical feel, nice views of the pool and front garden. It's the only place to get WiFi as the hotel is accommodation is spread over a large area of beautiful gardens which are immaculately tended by an army of staff. We were on a B&B tariff but the majority of guests were on All Inclusive, so the Seagull restaurant tends to be very busy throughout each meal service. We loved the hotel and would return there, but the room rate wold not fit a limited budget for a longer stay.
Waiters at breakfast are made to wander round tables carrying a tray with large glass pots of both tea and coffee. Naturally these go cold quite quickly and the tea was always stewed and undrinkable. I suggested to a manager that they should consider some other way of serving hot drinks, but I got the impression that I was not "heard". We only ate dinner in the Seagull twice. The buffet had an excellent selection of salads but the fish and chicken main hot dishes were very poor. Indian food was much better but rotisserie were pre- made so quite stale and chewy. The buffet is very overpriced. Our first room service order took over an hour to arrive and then, only because we chased it up. The order had not been passed on to the kitchen staff. We suggested we should not be charged and they agreed. After that our room service orders all arrived promptly. Our digital safe malfunctioned and we could not get our cash out, and again we waited nearly two hours for a technician to come and unlock it. Just as well that we weren't leaving for a flight or excursion, with cash and passports inside. Again, our request had not been passed on by reception. Customer service could improve, no doubt, but all in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
