What a gem in the middle of Kansas!

5.00/5.0
It was much nicer than your standard Econo Lodge. They would do a booming business in a more populated city, but it was in the right location for us. The hotel and room were very clean and updated nothing looked worn. The bed was very comfortable. The air conditioner worked well and you were even able to direct the air upward and not blowing directly on you. Even though there were not a lot of people staying probably due to the location--the breakfast was fresh, plentiful and hot with eggs and sausage plus waffles and cereal. The couple staying next door and I agree what a refreshing change this Econo Lodge was.

Acceptable condition for the price.

Extremely comfortable bed.
Bathroom door didn't close, cleaned spiders/webs from common areas (couch, bed, etc.) and delayed response at the front desk.

Disappointing Econo Lodge

2.90/5.0
The room was very large, which was nice and the beds were comfortable.
Check in was difficult, they could not find my reservation, then they didn't put our party into rooms that were close to one another. My 75 year old mother was given a room at the end of the building that reeked of cigarettes, after we specifically asked for a non-smoking room. We asked for a new room, which they did give us, but then wanted my mother to pay more for it. We did not care for the staff and will not be returning to this establishment.

Nice stay in a nice town!

5.00/5.0
Staff were polite and helpful. My husband needed extra pillows due to an injury and they were delivered to the room within minutes of checking in. While it is an older hotel, they have done a nice job of upgrading! A fort right beside the hotel is a nice side trip.

Clean, Quiet and Comfortable

4.15/5.0
The staff was pleasant, and remedied the few minor issues (needed TV remote batteries) quickly and with professionalism. Facility was clean, quiet and comfortable. It is an older facility, that has been updated well. Not 5 star, but perfect for our trip, and should meet most traveler's needs.
Slightly less expensive if you call the hotel directly, vs. going through Booking.com.

Great selection for the price.

5.00/5.0
This property is in small town Phillipsburg (middle of nowhere) Kansas so my expectations were moderate at best. What I found was delightful. The exterior of the hotel isn't anything spectacular but the rooms had just been remodeled and clean. The amenities were good and I can't begin to tell you how comfortable the new bedding was. Rooms have microwaves and fridges in them as well as a small table for eating. I was pleasantly surprised considering the price. I really expected something a little less "nice". Continental breakfast was about the same as everywhere else. Lobby and breakfast area were also very clean and well maintained. Front desk called soon after we settled in to make sure our accommodations were up to snuff. Very good for a budget hotel.

The bathtub slopes toward the drain at a high angle.

The bathtub slopes toward the drain at a high angle. I put the mat in the tub, grabs the bar to get in the shower, the mat slipped and I slammed my shin against the edge of the tub causing a sever bruise on my shin which later got infected. The tub is at too severe an angle for safe entry.

Do not come here, they make you pay more than they originally said, they have so many problems with the rooms, and they will try to milk you for every penny, email me to see pictures of the damage

Poor poor. Rooms smelled of old cigarette smoke. Rude staff. Charged more then quoted. Office managers only response to any problem was I am not the owner. Would not stay here again if I was paid to.

I stayed at this hotel on March 5, 6 & & 7th 2015. I would Not recommend this hotel to anyone EVER. First of all, my family was staying there for a funeral, they told us we could get a room with two queen beds for $57 a night. When I arrived, they gave me a room with one king bed. They put me in another room with two queen beds but charged me another approximately $30. The first morning at breakfast (which was very limited), the manager (not from this country and with poor English) they asked me how many people were in the room. I told them at check in there would be 4 adults and one 3 year old child and we would need extra towels for them. But he wanted to know again, because as he said, "the owner was looking at us on the camera (creepy) at check in" and noticed that we had too many people in the room. So guess what? there was another charge of $90 for the room. The $57 room price that was quoted to us per night, was actually closer to $100 per night. The rooms were dirty and there was construction ongoing at the hotel with power tools running all hours of the day and night. The room had no closet, no coat rack and no way to hang up clothes. They did have wifi but it was of horrible quality and mostly unusable.Stay at the cottonwood up the street. The rooms are cleaner and a bit more expensive, but totally worth it. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER stay at this hotel.

I called for a same day reservation and received $5 off. The total was ~$55. The room was nonsmoking and as advertised did not smell like smoke. Everything in the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was good too.

We went there to save a couple of money because it was cheaper than the other motel. We got pressure to exit before check out time and the breakfast was pitiful. Go to the other motel!

Rooms were clean, big and inexpensive. But when it snowed they did absolutely nothing about snow removal, parking lot was a sheet of ice and stairs were dangerous.
