Furniture was old. Needs up dating. Rust in tub. Carpet worn. Look like a cheap motel. $50.00 a night.

Don't stay at this place, gf and I woke up with bed bug bites on our backs and that is where you should draw the line but the bad experience didn't start there. The room was clean on the surface but upon further inspection it appears that the maid didn't bother to clean the grime from the previous guest and even left the dirty rag from what they did clean.

I stayed at the Live Oak, Florida location. I stayed for two days. My experience was fair. The room was okay for the price. The television in the room was an old tube television. Besides that everything else was what I expected.

Disgusting, and thankfully, all over the news now. A disgrace to Floridians everywhere. A group of high school students from Michigan were touring colleges in Florida and stayed in this hell hole and were terrified for their lives. Read about it on the news: April 16, 2015. I lived in Florida for six years and it is experiences like this that make me never want to return. Shame on you, Live Oak.

Racist establishment. Treated a group of African American college students with hatred, bigotry and using racist slurs at them. I will never spend my money at this place and I will make sure to tell everyone I know not to as well. Shame on you Econo Lodge in Live Oak Florida. Shame on all of you.

We were eaten by bed bugs all night long. Had to sleep in the chair because of that and because the bed smelled like rats. There was a doo doo stain on the bed spread. It was a shocking experience to say the least. I wouldn't stop there ever again even if they were paying me to. Not to mention the staff at the front desk tried to sell me crack. Outrageous.

My cousins, and other high school students came here on an educational college tour from Flint Michigan and were treated like a bunch of criminals because of the color of their skin. They did not do anything wrong. Why the unfair treatment ? ? Why does prejudice still exist in this country? Instead of running a business you guys are acting like a bunch of Assholes. 1st time going to Florida & that's the treatment they get ??? Shame on you all ...

Shame on you EconoLodge for your racist, unprofessional customer service to the black high school entourage from Michigan. I encourage them to file a civil rights violation suit with the Live Oak, FL. Attorney General and hope to see your little bigot motel shut down. I had an encounter with a racist manager at an EconoLodge all the way in Belton, MO. and to be quite honest it's time for white people who abuse their authority to be removed. If you people in Florida (or anywhere else in the world) can't except the fact that it's 2015, you have a president of color in office for the U.S. and it's not okay to call black people the "n" word then maybe YOU should move to another country. Furthermore, if black people don't begin standing up for ourselves by composing petitions, filing law suits and demonstrating peaceful protest that ultimately result in legal ramifications or bankruptcy for dysfunctional , racist establishments like the ones at EconoLodge then we will truly be re-living the Civil Rights era all over again.

FLINT (WJRT) - (04/15/15) - What started off as an educational trip for a group of Flint high school students left them with an unfortunate lesson on racism.Brittany Clerkley and a group of about 90 adults and teens were wrapping up a college tour. On their way back to Flint, their bus had mechanical issues. They ended up spending the night at the Econo Lodge in Live Oak, Florida.Coordinator Blake Odum says right after dinner, is when the trip took a much different and disturbing tone."It was owned by white people. And they started taking pictures of all the kids as we were walking in and out of the hotel," said student Melissa Blacque."I heard one of the ladies, she said, 'If i see one more of them, I'm calling the law,'" Odum said.Blacque says the students were peaceful, but felt uncomfortable at the hotel."They were calling us the N word and called Blake the N word. We were just like 'whoa,'" Blacque said.Odum says things felt so tense that to avoid any trouble, he tried to be proactive by calling police. When police arrived, they told the group to stay in their rooms for the night. Odum says the officer left him with a chilling message."The officer pulled me to the side and said, 'You know, I just want to let you know this area right off the interstate, people aren't too accommodating to you all.' And he said, 'If you know what I mean.' I said, 'Black people?' And he said, 'Yeah,'" Odum said. The students tell ABC 12 overnight, the staff antagonized them. The group says they were told to check out the next morning immediately at 10.As they left, that's when Odum says tensions reached a boiling point, when he says he heard the manager say, "'We're going to get these N****rs off our property.' And I was blown back by that," Odum said."To hear it come from an adult directly at children and then to our adviser in front of us was just like, 'wow," Blacque said.ABC12 reached out to the Econo Lodge, but our call was never returned."They should not get away with treating people like that," Clerkley said.We asked Odum for the reason why the group did not switch to another hotel."The bus company put us at this hotel even though we advised them against it. We were advised by the daughter of the owner of the bus company. She said her dad wanted to put us there because that was the most cost effective. And we were looking at what was the most safe. And they didn't take that into consideration," he said.Odum says they plan on taking legal action and have already called the hotel's corporate headquarters.Outside of the incident, leaders say the college tour was very successful and will continue next year.

After stopping at our hotel that we had booked, and finding it horrible accommodations. .. mold, bugs, dirty, etc. We tried to find a hotel within a 3-4 hour radius... everywhere was booked!!! The staff at this hotel went above and beyond to accommodate us!!!! The room was extremely clean and even though it was an older hotel, it was a great room! !!! We will definitely make this our stopping point on the way to Orlando everytime!!! They allowed us to check out late, and eat breakfast when we got up due to our arrival at 4:00 am. They were amazing people and it was a great experience! !! Thank you Chris and Cheryl for being so kind!!!!!
