About Hotel Grand Canal

Hotel Grand Canal is quietly situated in the centre of Delft and yet 150 meters away from Delft’s Central Station, which offers many public transport facilities. All rooms have a homey setting and a view of the canals. You can enjoy an extensive breakfast in the breakfast room before exploring this historic city. This former canal house used to be the city’s prison and even earlier, the storage place for the V.O.C. At 50 metres from the hotel, there is a parking area. Hotel Grand Canal is situated close to the A4 and A13 to Amsterdam, Rotterdam and the Hague. Leiden is a 30 minute drive away.

Guests are kindly requested to inform the hotel about their estimated time of arrival. Nice location, cute building.
Rooms are very small, no lift so you need to drag your stuff up the stairs with no suggested help from anyone, breakfast poor and expensive.

Schöne Zimmer und gute Lage, aber schlechter Service

Unser Zimmer war hübsch eingerichtet und die Lage ist mitten in der Stadt sehr gut.
Wir konnten nicht mit Karte bezahlen (weder EC - noch Kreditkarte). Die Heizung im Zimmer ging erst am letzten Tag an, wodurch es recht kalt war. Das Frühstücksbuffet wurde eine Stunde vor Schluss nicht mehr aufgefüllt, es sei denn man hat explizit nach etwas gefragt.

Gunstige locatie, goede bedden
Sanitair: de WC bleef doorlopen, de stroom viel uit tijdens het föhnen. Het ontbijt was matig. De kamer had enkel glas, temperatuur was slecht te regelen.

A person who does the cleaning, speaks very loudly in Spanish, preventing rest during the morning. The toilet takes too long to recharge water.

Mooie locatie
Wij hadden met ontbijt geboekt. Ontbijt was tot 11 uur. Toen wij iets voor 10 uur in de ontbijt zaal aankwamen waren al geen broodjes meer. Er lag nog een half supermarkt brood en 2 oude krentenbollen. Toen we naar verse broodjes vroegen was simpel het antwoord, "tja de ene keer wordt er meer gegeten dan de andere keer"

Delft was a charming surprise. The hotel was a nice place but with negative attitude toward clients.

Location, in the old part of Delft, is good and allow to easily reach other places and to enjoy the weekly market. The room was nice and with a view on the canal that could be enjoyed from the big windows.
They didn't accept payment with the Mastercard used for the reservation and didn't allow to use the card directly charged on the bank account saying, at arrival and at departure, that the car reader machine was broken so forcing us to withdraw money and pay cash. It's not acceptable and at least it should be clearly stated on the website before the reservation to leave the freedom to move to a different hotel if someone don't want to go around with big amount of money or pay extras for using ATMs of other banks.

Leuk om in een karakteristiek pand te verblijven

Ontbijt was goed, mooi uitzicht bij ontbijt. Kamer ruim en comfortabel
Slaapbank was hard om op te slapen. Er lag medicatie(+ doordrukstrip) + broodkruimels naast het grote 2 persoons- bed op de vloer, bij nachtkastje. Veel geluid van buiten, jonge mensen die hard geluid maakten bij het feestvieren.

Sehr wohnlich, gemütlich, zum Wohlfühlen, gutes bequemes Bett, großartiges Badezimmer... in dem etwas besseren Doppelzimmer.
Schon während des Frühstücks wurde unentwegt geputz, geräumt, gescheppert, ... 40 min bevor das Frühstück offiziell enden sollte, gab man uns das Gefühl uns rauskehren zu wollen ...

Heel fijn verblijf

Hele mooie kamers die ik nog nooit eerder gezien had. Prachtige badkamer, supercomfortabele bedden.
Het enige minpuntje vond ik dat er niet echt faciliteiten waren en dat het in een straat lag met veel studentenhuizen dus dat er tot diep in de nacht geschreeuw op straat was.

Wij vonden dit een heel geschikt hotel voor een weekendje Delft.

Leuke locatie gelegen aan een gracht. Goede ligging t.o.v. het centrum / winkels. Heel vriendelijk personeel. Prijs/kwaliteit zeer goed.
Enigszins rumoer van de bovenvloer. Kan eigenlijk ook niet anders met zo'n mooi oud pand.
