About Hotel Rural Fonda de la Tea

This old inn house from the 19th century boasts great views of Tejeda and its landscape, the Biosphere Reserve of Gran Canaria. After a long period of renovation this has been converted into a spectacular rural hotel; a harmonious combination of traditional Canarian architectural elements and careful and tasteful decoration. There is a typical Canarian patio that preserves a flavour of the old, with water and shade that create serenity. picturesque, romantic hideaway

Eva, who welcomed us, was especially helpful, friendly and kind. Loved the sun terrace views and having little extras like a kettle and fridge in the room. Fab location in a picturesque mountain village.

I would recommend taking your own water as they don´t put any in the rooms - that would be a good addition for them as a gesture. The breakfast was fine but normal continental - no fresh juice or croissants etc.

Schönes Landhotel in zentraler Lage der Insel

Das Hotel eignet sich besonders für Wanderausflüge im Zentrum der Insel, aber auch andere Gebiete sind gut erreichbar. Mietwagen ist empfehlenswert. Zimmer sind gut ausgestattet (Einzel- oder Doppelbett, WLAN, Föhn, Kühlschrank). Gemeinschaftsterrasse im zweiten Stock mit Liegen, Dusche und tollem Ausblick. Die Chefin (Fina) und Mitarbeiterin (Eva) sind sehr freundlich und um das Wohlbefinden der Gäste sehr besorgt.

In der Nebensaison sind am Abend nur wenige Restaurants im Ort geöffnet. Ein "Abendprogramm" wie in den Orten an der Küste darf man nicht erwarten!

Unable to check in on arrival

Even though we were the only people staying the staff were very friendly and helpful (once we'd found them!)

When we first arrived the hotel was closed and there was no response to the number we were invited to ring. It took about 10 minutes wandering up and down to actually find someone to let us in.

Tolle Lage, schöne Aussicht, sehr ruhig. Gemeinschaftsterrasse im 2. Stock. Umgebung. Nettes Personal.

Alles o.k., nur die Fernbedienung des Fernsehers funktionierte nicht (haben wir aber erst am Abend vor der Abreise gemerkt).

Die Gemeinschafttsterasse mit den Liegestühlen ist gut gelungen. Der Blick auf die Berge ist sehr gut. Die Unterkunft ist sehr ruhig..

Das Frühstück war jeden Tag gleich. Mehr Abwechslung bei Wurst und Käse wäre gut. Der Chefin war es überaus wichtig, dass wir in ihrem eigenen Restaurant das Abendessen einnehmen.Es gibt aber bessere Optionen im Ort. Die Aussagen über die Wandermöglichkeiten dagegen wurden nur unzulänglich und sehr knapp beantwortet. Insgesamt sehr geschäftsmäßg.

we've got room by the terrace - the view is incredible and there are sunbeds. nice breakfasts. clean, comfortable bed.

rooms are quite dark so in case of bad weather you would need to set the light on. lack of vegetables during breakfast. little bit expensive.

We loved the hotel, the staff were so friendly and helped out all they could with walking info and where to eat. The terrace is amazing, a beautiful view to wake up to and then in the afternoon to sit and snooze in the sunshine after a long days walk! Tejeda is a really beautiful place.

My only criticism would be that it would be nice to have a kettle in the room so you could make yourself a nice cup of tea! But next time I'll just bring my travel kettle!
