Friendly, clean, stunning views. Highly recommended. We will be back.

Thank you very much for the excellent hospitality during our recent stay. The lower ski fields were grassy, but we found some superb powder up the top of the mountain, with 2 intermediate courses open. The favourable weather made it an experience that we won't forget. Coming all the way from Australia, we sought a comfortable homely hotel - this place surely ticked all of the boxes. The rooms were large, very clean, and warm. The amenities were clean and the private bath was a great way to start the day. The friendly staff served a delicious dinner and breakfast, and joined in our conversations (and singing!). We can't rate this hotel highly enough. 10/10. We will be back.
We didn't like that we had to leave so soon.

Ok, but not my style

3.15/5.0
The staff were really sweet. I had to make a change because of sickness and they were flexible. The lady was sweet with my daughters during breakfast time. The view of the restaurant was the ski slope.
The kerosene bedroom heater made our room smell like kerosene and it can't be neither healthy nor safe. The shared bathroom was too small. We had to set up our own beds when we arrived. It was expensive for what it offered, the decor, comfort etc. They charged us 400Yen per orange juice.

Great place with lovely owners and good food!

4.60/5.0
Very friendly owners make this place a joy to stay! They speak a little English and go out of their way to understand and help you. The food in their restaurant is excellent and very good value too! The hot tub/onsen is a nice bonus and everything is nice and clean. The place is located right next to the ski slope, so ski in/out is possible. It is about 10 min walk to the centre of town and bus stop to Hakuba.
The rooms have traditional Japanese futon beds which are pretty firm if you're not used to it. Not a problem for us, but worth mentioning.

Traditional, convenient and friendly

4.40/5.0
Very friendly, helpful staff (even with limited english). Great Japanese meals from the kitchen at night. Fantastic hot tub. Perfect location for skiing (unfortunately was a late season and wasn't any snow on the slope/run outside hotel but still accessible on top of mountain)
The final slope to get to the hotel is reasonable so pack light or arrange transport. Very few restaurants/establishments open if not full ski season so can be hard to find a place to eat.

Very good value and accommodating family run lodge

4.60/5.0
The family that run the lodge are fantastic and really went out of their way for us. They drove us to the convenient store and the ski rental shop and secured a discount for us on equipment. The rooms are basic but comfortable. The barrel bath is a nice bonus.
Wifi didn't reach the rooms so you had to sit close to reception. Out of peak season the lodge is not ski in ski out but the gondola is about a 10 minute walk away. Cash only everywhere which is a bit of an inconvenience.
