NH Carlton is a luxurious hotel with a terrace in Amsterdam city centre overlooking the flower market, only 100 metres from the Kalverstraat shopping area. Parkgarage vom Hotel sehr schlecht. Dann noch 40 Euro die Nacht dafür bezahlen.

Location of the hotel.
Hot buffet breakfast items were always cold - bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs. Carpet in the room was disgusting - faded beyond recognition and very badly stained.

Déception, pas un réel 4 étoiles

La situation géographique La taille et le confort du lit Le pommeau de douche
4 étoiles... nous restons septiques sur le nombre d'étoiles !! Et pourtant il est bien affiché sur la devanture de l'hôtel. Un meuble abîmé, le seul fauteuil disponible taché, les fils slnt apparents, la moquette a mal vieilli, il n'y a pas de porte manteau dans l'entrée, il manque des rangements utiles (et notamment dans la salle de bains). La salle de bains etait vieillote et minuscule (obligée de se mettre conre la baignoire pour pouvoir fermer la porte et acceder aux toilettes coincées derriere la porte. Pour un 4 étoiles, il y a une bouilloire à disposition mais la seule prise disponible est au juste au dessus d'une plinthe. Il faut alors débrancher le mini frigo, mettre le plateau à brancher de la bouilloire au sol et le brancher. Un manque d'information sur les prix (qu'est ce qui est offert ou pas ? Combie coûte le était déjeuner), ou encore à quelle heure la chambre doit être quittée, ... Et le comble, nous avions un bloc de béton (une partie du mur extérieur)devant notre fenêtre...pas de chance, appartement il y a seulement 3 chambres ainsi mais à 140€ la nuit avec une promotion, nous sommes déçus. Nous avons fait beaucoup d'hôtel et avons eu des 3 étoiles bien mieux avec des prestations très au dessus.

This being my 5th time in Amsterdam, first time staying at the NH Carlton and it was just a lovely experience. Location is amazing (flowers market), room was spacious and clean. Nothing to complain about.

Ask for quiet room if you actually want to sleep there

The central location was noisy with bar goers until 4am (Thursday night) - sleeping impossible. This is not the hotel's fault but if you don't want to be out until 4am yourself ask for a quiet room. What the hotel can improve is cleanliness - carpets filthy and room smelly.

La pulizia del bagno, la maniglia della doccia era rotta nell'aprire l'acqua mi rimaneva in mano, maniglia della doccia rotta, lavandino con crepa, pavimento sporco, lenzuola con buco!!! Mancanza di ricambio acqua nel frigo bar.

Reasonable service and facility but its a little too pricey for the kind of service received.

I requested to change room and it was done immediately.
The other guests were shouting some 10 - 15 mins along the corridor and no staff was there to quieten the guests. Some staff at the front desk were unfriendly.

Die Lage des Hotels mitten in der Stadt war richtig toll. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet. Auch unser Komfortzimmer zur Straße hin war nicht laut. Haben sehr gut in den Betten geschlafen.
Kühlschrank im Zimmer war verplombt. Zusätzlich Dinge zu kühlen, war nicht möglich. Die Klimaanlage war nicht spürbar.
