A small slice of heaven on the coast - A trip worth making

5.00/5.0
EVERYTHING IS PERFECT! We had a cabin accross the road. I had been initially a little dissappointed that we didn't have a waterfront one but the cabin itself is so immaculately put together that I soon forgot! The comlimentary breakfast was amazing. My 10 year old's highlight was access to the comlimentary sodas in the fridge (thankyou). We had intended to have dinner elsewhere, but being a Monday night the alternative was shut so we retured to Nick's Cove for the dinner. Oh my, it was worthwhile..I would recommend you stick around at least one night to sample their menu. The finest aspect of ths stay though was taking a glass of wine out to the end of the jetty and watching the sunset. It is a stunning location packed full of wildlife (we watched a heron fishing on a floating stage just next to the jetty). We nearly didn't go to this part of California in our roadtrip but we are so so glad we did it is a real gem.
No...Really nothing. Apart from that a) I forgot to ask for our comlimentary cheese! (my mistake not yours)... b) we didn't stay long enough (again my mistake!)

Nicks Cove, we'll be back

5.00/5.0
Park your car and relax. Waterfront solitude with a great restaurant/bar, beach, dock and all the little touches that make a stay memorable. My kids wanted to move in, still talking about it two weeks later. We loved it.

An absolute gem in Marin

4.60/5.0
I was looking for a high quality, remote spot to relax amidst business trips and Nicks Cove fitted the bill perfectly. My lodge, Red Legged Frog, was perfect for a solo traveller. The clear air, scents of sea and trees, the big sky and tranquility, I could not have picked better. All the staff especially stood out for friendliness and helpfulness, (even printed out directions to the Larkspur Ferry for me without my asking). The quietness and beauty of the area, mixed with a popular and excellent bar/restaurant is a winner. I would not hesitate to return again and recommend Nicks Cove to everyone.

I went to Nicks for a birthday lunch with friends. Overall it was a great experience! The food was tasty, the service wonderful. Special thanks to our server for helping us surprise the birthday boy with a dessert + candle and song.

unequaled location in unpretentious accommodations!

5.00/5.0
remote location allows for deep appreciation of the natural setting. If the exterior of the cabins are not exceptional the interior sure is.
Nick's Cove dining is just "OK"

Great staff. Great location. Lovely meal. Open fire in the room a lovely touch.
We didn't get a room by the water which was OK but we didn't realise until we got there.

The boat shack and staff make the trek out here worth it! Hope for clear skies and the sunset will be remarkable.

Food was tasty, but the restaurant was extremely casual and the prices did not match the ambiance at all. The oysters were about the same price as Hog Island, but were a fraction of the size. They were still delicious, but I would've expected larger ones based on the price. We had to wait 20 minutes on a Saturday even though we had a reservation.

i am not good with words but i do know this. i have never had clam chowder that was that good, ever! it was lacking salt which i never added because you could actually taste every ingredient in it. my wife's fish and chips was cooked to perfection also, the flavor and texture were perfection. the starter bread with their butter with sea salt sprinkled on top were good but then dip that in their company made (believe that's what he told us, sorry if wrong) hot sauce (not hot but flavorful) and it was awesome. we will be back. i am a very picky eater who does not care for sea food but have a handful of things i like and they did that one justice. thank you.

come here for the view and the boathouse sitting out over the water with a drink and some food is awesome. In the boathouse is a fireplace and a phone. You can order food and drinks to enjoy out in the boathouse. The selection of food is great bit its a tad overpriced and average at best
