Old charm with friendly faces.

5.00/5.0
From old charm, to friendly staff, this is a gem. So take yourself away from the Corporate hotels and get the charm and magic that comes with a family establishment and charm.
I didnt like how breakfast was suppose to be a buffet, but because of a event going on we had to get our meals separate.

Not my kind of place.

You get what you pay for. Value was reasonable. This is a great place for hunters & fishermen.
Very dated, clean but almost austere accommodations. Definitely not a luxury location, but ok for the cost minded traveler.

One night stay at Mammoth Caves.

Good restaurant. Clean and comfortable room. Good location to reach Mammoth Caves.
The TV did not work correctly. I didn't call about it since I only use it for white noise in the evenings.

Rerun after 45 years

3.75/5.0
Spent Honeymoon here 45 years ago. Good for memories. Breakfast buffet had all our likes. Bed was very good.
Window A/C a little small for room. Ice from front desk. Would have liked a coffee maker in room, but it was available in the lobby.

Great location but not a good value.

3.15/5.0
The staff was nice. A Weimaraner called Ralph met us at the door. He may have been a vistor's dog, but I really liked him. The place was located very close to a lot of trails we wanted to hike and was conveniently located near a wedding we attended in Smith's Grove.
They ran out of food for breakfast by 8:30 AM, but we still paid full price for it. The room left a lot to be desired. The Vent on the wall was hanging sideways, the quilt was literally falling apart with loose threads everywhere, we somehow ended up with glitter on our faces from the pillows (I guess?), we had no "free wifi," our window AC unit lied about the temperature, and I find it odd that in 2016 a hotel receptionist must manually write down the credit card numbers of people staying in the hotel... Surely there is a computational method that is better suited for this. The cost was too high for the type of place it was.

Poor

1.65/5.0
Location in the countryside
Underinvested - check in experience was being handed 2 keys - no validation of our booking - quality of the room and entrance to hotel - this is a 2 star hotel

A good country stay

3.75/5.0
Overall location was good. Food was great value. Friendly staff. Great value. Charming rooms with a nice view across tree tops and escarpment.
Would benefit from some maintenance and a spruce up. Would also be amazing to have the pool back in use.

Okay

2.90/5.0
The staff was very nice and friendly. The dog around the lodge was adorable and friendly too! The location was great, nearby lots to do in the area without being too busy/overrun.
The Lodge needs some upgrades to be worth the price. While the view was beautiful, the lodge inside had terrible wifi, a run down restaurant, and loud and inconsistent AC. When arriving in the middle of the day, no staff were to be found for a while. A couple different guests added up before someone showed up.

Stay only if everything else is booked

2.30/5.0
Owners pet.
Booked King bed, was told King wasn't available, was given double. Room very sparcley furnished. Upon arrival we mentioned we would go out for dinner. They kept dinning room open for us but when we arrived and order was told all they could do was a ham and cheese sandwich, which they charged $7.50 for.

Pet friendly location near Mammoth Caves

4.60/5.0
I liked the fact that the pet friendly rooms had outdoor access with a small patio. The restaurant served excellent food which was priced well. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The pet friendly rooms were very dated but very clean.

Dated hotel with poor service.

2.50/5.0
close enough to mammoth cave area but not caught up in the busyness.
decor was straight out of the 70s. only one waitress in restaurant. so service was poor there although the food was pretty good. a/c barely worked and was taped into window . no a/c in restaurant. my top sheet was stained. no in room refrigerator. it felt like they were just trying to get by as a business and not trying to thrive.

Good location, a little run down.

3.35/5.0
The location was good. The front desk and restaurant staff (same person!) was very friendly.
They had said they had wifi but it was not working and the front desk didn't seem to know much about this. Apparently it only works in some rooms.

Faaaaaaaantastic

4.60/5.0
The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful! The rooms were really large and comfortable. Also, the winery had great choices, and was the perfect place to unwind and have a date night!
There was supposedly wifi in the common areas, but there was never enough signal to connect. We could have really used a mini fridge in the room, since we were traveling with a cooler.

This property is a step back in time. Although somewhat dated the facility is enchanting, unique and a worthwhile experience. We will stay there again if in the area.

Family trip to Mammoth Cave

3.95/5.0
Great if you don't want a corporate hotel. Clean, friendly, and beautiful view. The restaurant in the building was nice with two kids. Off the beaten path.
We waited for almost an hour for a scoop of ice cream and two beers. The next two meals were buffet so there was no wait.
