Lovely villia with stunning view, very clean, friendly staff, central access to north and south

The staff, Margaux, Philipe et al was welcoming and friendly. Very clean apartment / rooms with all the basic essential such as iron, washing machine, dryer, clothes horse etc, including a cell phone with starter credit for the duration of our stay. The view from our balcony was exceptional. We was provided with a kitchen starter pack with satchets of coffee, herbal tea, cereal etc., this included full kitchen equipments such as cutlery, pots, pan, cooker and a microwave. A well maintain outdoors surrounding which is kept clean daily. All rooms had lovely decor, spacious and fully furnished, and in very good clean condition. Any concerns or suggestions brought to staff was taken seriously and acted upon. Margaux ensured implementation of change where necessary or applicable will be carry out within reason and embraced verbal feedback at all times. The villia felt homely and during the day very secure, and staff was at hand during 9 - 4pm if needed. Useful travel information, maps, guides was supplied in our apartment on arrival.
The villia could be deemed as isolated, and quiet which we liked. It is distance from shops etc., to get to anywhere, if you have not got a car you had three choices.Firstly, to walk down a steep hill with pot holes. No street lights if returning at night.Secondly, though there were uneven short cut (see photos below), not man made, which we used often during the day, a few times early evening cause it saved us on time and was a quick route to the local bus stop or a shorter walk to the town centre. However, it's not for everyone and could be deemed as very dangerous. (The hotel staff do warn you of the dangers!).Lastly, A Car is a must!!! Hire a car (I now know why we was asked several times by Margaux if we wanted to hire a car). If unable to drive be cautious it will be costly in Taxi fares. It could be suggested that in form of security someone could live or be on site as other hotels / villia / guest houses. Although there were bars on all Windows, security gates, which all guest was given a key fob to go in and out. Opening and closing the gate was extremely slow process and any unwanted guest could easily slip in. Every time, in or out we stood watching to ensure the gates closed. Night time was the worst, watching our backs whilst waiting on the gates to open (I was brought up in the carribean, so this did not phase me. But with my knowledge, experience, health and safety hat on, I had to persuade my friend, whose first time it was in st Lucia that it was safe ... it took a few days before she could relax). There were daily reassurance ... praying silently ???????? that she would start enjoying and stop worrying, which she did.Moving on, A Taxi telephone number was provided in our welcome pack but was of no use as at no point throughout our stay as no-one answered day or night.

Nice, Clean and Spacious Apartments

My friend and I stayed at these Villas from the 3rd till the 7th of March. We stayed in a 1 bed apartment (ground floor) which was very spacious, clean and tidy with a well equipped kitchen utensils. The apartments have a very good view of the Castries Port. View of the sunset from the terrace, but watch out for the blood sucking mosquitos! Unfortunately for us, the day we got there our luggage did not arrive so we were delayed getting to the apartments. Margaux was kind and patient. She also very kindly came back to the apartments @ 10.00pm in the evening when she got a call informing her our luggage had arrived as we had given her contact number. Thanks you for that Margaux. The surrounding of the apartments is very nice and kept clean on daily basis. Apartment is about 10 - 15 minute walk from Castries town centre. There are 2 beaches we went to while we stayed here. Sandals TOC beach which we took a taxi to and spent a very pleasant day there (limited shade). You can use the Sandals hotel facilities and buy drinks from the bar too. Second one is Vigie beach, which is a long stretch of nice and clean Sandy beach with lots of trees for shade, but has very very limited facilities . Rendez vous Hotel is the only hotel on this beach, but they have security on the outside who are not very friendly and you can’t use their facilities either. I highly recommend taking a picnic for the day. You can either take a taxi there or catch a bus from Castries town centre. Please note that the apartments are a bit of a walk from Castries, from where you can catch buses (pay the driver when you get off, buses are friendly and frequent but avoid evening rush hour time) and taxis. Taxis in St Lucia are very very expensive (agree the price before hand and confirm ECD or USD).
Before we got there, the cleaners left the windows to our apartment open to air it which resulted in our apartment having a few mosquitos! Also the apartment we stayed in did not have a net around the bed which meant the very first night I got bitten quite a few times! It would have been really helpful if the apartments provided a mosquito spray and/or mosquito plugins for the apartments. We travel quite a lot so we did take mosquito repellant spray, but it was in our luggage and as our luggage was delayed, this did not help us on our first night at the apartment. The terrace is lovely and I would have loved to have sat there with a few drinks watching the sun set, unfortunately every time I went out even for a little while, I always got bitten by mosquitos.

Rooms with a view

Our two bedroom apartment was large, stylish and exceedingly well equipped. Grounds were attractive with a very welcome swimming pool. All the staff were helpful and friendly Castries seemed very safe to us. We walked into the centre most days. A taxi from the centre to the apartments will cost $10 US

A lovely stay at an excellent apartment

The apartment was in a central position on the island so we were able to get out and about. We found the apartment to be exceptionally well equipped with even a washing machine and dryer. The staff were very pleasant and the whole place was very well maintained with lovely views of the harbour from the property
The only slight thing was that the cable TV was a little old fashioned. It may be that reception in this area is not as good as at home but it certainly didn't spoil any part of our stay.

Nice spacious apartment and beautiful view

Very spacious apartment, well equipped kitchen, nice view from the terrace, friendly staff and a few good restaurants nearby. Try "Brown Sugar" which is excellent value for money. "Coal Pot" is also good but twice as expensive as Brown Sugar.
There is no cleaning of the apartment during the stay. Castries doesn't feel like a safe town. The walk to the restaurants is dark at night and you might want to take a taxi which is expensive - even though it is just a 10 minutes walk from Poinsettia. The infrastructure of the island can be a challenge if you're not planning to spend a fortune on taxis. The local buses are cheap but it will be very difficult - if not impossible - to bring luggage. Taxis are really expensive. Poinsettia recommended a local guy called Max, but in the end he wanted 180 USD for a 3 1/2 hour trip. Be sure to double or triple check the price for a taxi before you start on a tour!
