About The College Hotel

The College Hotel is a four star boutique hotel in the centre of Amsterdam. This historical building was built in the 19th century. The restaurant and bar of this hotel were completely renovated in May 2017. The interior design assembled by designer Martijn de Goede. The rooms feature free WiFi, a flat screen TV, coffee facilities and some have bathrobes with slippers. Each room is decorated differently. Breakfast includes freshly baked bread and fresh orange juice. The College Hotel has a terrace and garden. In the summer lunch, beers and wine can be served here. This hotel has 4 function rooms and is also suitable for weddings, children high tea's and birthdays. From May 2017 The College Hotel will also serve lunch and dinner at Ristorante Ferilli's PC Hooftstraat is 1 km away and the Vondelpark is 1,2 km away. The famous area "De Pijp" is around the corner. There is a tram stop across the street.

Op zich goed verblijf, maar kamer te warm (airco werkte niet) en bediening bij ontbijt matig.

Gratis upgrade naar suite, prima! Kamer echter warm en airco werkte niet.
Bij ontbijt duurde erg lang voordat bestelling voor ei werd opgenomen. Zelf 2x moeten vragen. Tafels om ons heen werden heel laat afgeruimd. Zit je poos te kijken tegen niet afgeruimde tafels. Daarna werden tafels niet afgenomen en stoelen niet netjes rechtgezet. Geheel kwam rommelig over.

O hotel é maravilhoso! As acomodações muito bonitas, confortáveis. A equipe varia de pessoas boas a incríveis! O café era muito bom, mas por ser um quatro estrelas poderia ser um pouco mais completo em variedades! Em algumas avaliações vimos que algumas pessoas reclamavam do chuveiro ( que na verdade é uma ducha grande ) nós não tivemos problema... A ducha e banheira eram espetaculares, depois de aprender a regular tudo, era realmente incrível! O quarto é escuro a noite, mas isso faz parte da proposta de iluminação ( o que pra nós não foi um problema ). Fomos muito bem tratados! Era lua de mel e ganhamos champagne e um cartão fofo na chegada! A localização é incrível! Fizemos tudo a pé ou bicicleta! O hotel fica próximos há bares, pizzarias alguns importantes museus, praças... como o Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh (sensacional!), etc.... Andando um pouco mais ( meia hora ) chega-se a todos os pontos turísticos... achei super tranquilo. O hotel fornece bikes e motos para alugar! E também chamam taxis exclusivos! A equipe sempre perguntava se estávamos gostando da viagem, o que iríamos fazer... dispostos a ajudar! Adoramos!
Wi Fi gratuito muito lento.

A beautiful hotel, modern, quiet, central to the tram line, friendly/extremely helpful staff, excellent restaurant
No internal air conditioning in the middle of a 31 degree heatwave. We were provided with a portable one in our room, but it was unable to cope in cooling the room down and we spent an uncomfortable couple of nights

Architecture of the hotel was remarkable... Staff were great even most of them were at student and learner level. Also hotel had a perfect location. (few tram stops to popular places like museumplein, leidsplein, dam square...etc.)
Minibar was empty, water heater was not working. House keeping has to be improved. Last two days all towels were changed but sheets were not...

A peculiar stay with several unusual and negative aspects. Five out of ten.

The bed was comfortable, The food was very good. Hotel and especially the flowers were very attractive.
The headboard leans forward so much that it is impossible to sit on the bed and read or watch TV because it is uncomfortable. A note explaining the how the lights work would be useful. The staff who make the bills do not check them before they are given to customers. My bill and my friend's bill were several hundred Euros too much. At breakfast we were asked three or four times what our room number was. Coffees that we did not order or drink were charged to our room. I was told our room was excluded for breakfast even though I had ordered breakfast. So I had to sign a form in the middle of breakfast . When I got the bill it included two breakfasts for that morning i.e. the breakfast I ordered at reception and the breakfast I signed for during breakfast. I appreciate that the young students are learning their profession so I blame the system and the poor supervision that they have to work under.

Het is een ontzettend mooi hotel! Zeer uitgebreid ontbijt, Een goede service en vriendelijk personeel. Alles is goed bereikbaar met het openbaar vervoer. Zodra je in het hotel bent vergeet je alle drukte in Amsterdam. Dit hotel is zeker een aanrader!

My actual room was lovely, very spacious, lovely big windows, gorgeous beams, but my bathroom needed attention. The location is great, you can walk to everything if you want or take the tram from almost right out the front, and there are lots of lovely restaurants and cafes close by. Staff are friendly and want to provide good service.
In the bathroom there was significant lime scale on taps and tiles and it all just looked tired and worn - would have benefitted enormously from a really good scrub. The food in the restaurant was average at best.
