You won't find the Watermill if you follow Google's directions. The postcode is LA8 9PY, not LA8 9NU which will take you to the village of Staveley a mile and a half away.

My new favourite pub... shame I live 2 hours away!!! Went there twice on a recent family holiday and we all loved it... the food was delicious and tried ALL of the beers and I have to say, whether golden or dark, they were ALL beautiful. All brewed at the pub and given great names! Special mention for the Isle Of Dogs, award winning for a reason.WE WILL BE BACK!

Food was great, the lamb was full of taste, mashed potatoes were not instant, the ONLY thing is the fish n chips was haddock for cod price but it was still delicious. Service was prompt and friendly and the price was very reasonable.

Sunday lunch was superb, the roast potatoes are amazing, this pub also has it's own brewery, a must if you are in the area.

We checked in to The Watermill Inn on Tuesday 28th October 2014 for a short "minimoon" break after getting married at Brig o' Doon House Hotel in Ayrshire. We felt a little guilty that our wee pet spaniel Benji wasn't involved in the wedding celebrations, so we decided that a wee dog-friendly holiday was in order. It was Benji's first time on a short break away from home for more than a few days, and certainly his first time in a pub environment....We were a little apprehensive, as spaniels are quite excitable. Benji was a rescue, and wasn't used to being around too many dogs and people. Our worries were quickly eased when the gentleman at the bar brought him a bowl of water and some biscuits, and for the next 3 nights Benji felt completely at home there, as did we.The hospitality, quality of food and drink, atmosphere and setting were nothing short of perfection. Entering Ings Village is like stepping back in time, and with the schools on their half-term break the pub was filled to the gunnels. Kitted out for Halloween, the spirit of good times was clearly in residence! And then there's the ales... Oh, the ales! The variety, humour and maturity behind the brewing, branding and pouring of these is worth visiting the Inn even if you're not staying the night. But if you get the chance to stay then do. There are a huge range of walks across the Dales, public transport links straight from the front door to the rest of the lakes, and enough activities to keep you busy for several generations...We'll be back there regularly. And so will Benji.

Hidden Gem and their Home brewed ales, they're too die for. We had a handsome helping of beef on the choice of menu, I can't say enough good things about this place, great value for money, too. A lovely venue.

This is a lovely pub, serving good home cooked locally sourced food with some fantastic ales on offer. It is extremely dog friendly and walkers are welcomed. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the service is excellent with staff finding the right balance between helpful and overbearing. Another great pub to be recommended to the walker who may have dogs!!! Try the home brewed ales, especially "wuff justice" and "collie wobbles" which are fantastic. Enjoy!

Great family room. Food brilliant and own ale brewed on site. Not cheap but worth paying for. 2 adults 1 child b & b 1 night, great meal with starters puds and copious wine and beer, £200. Will go back again.
