About Van der Valk Hotel Leiden

This Van der Valk Hotel offers spacious rooms in a peaceful setting next to the Old Rhine River, 10 minutes’ drive from the heart of Leiden. It includes a fitness centre, an elegant restaurant and a garden with an intimate terrace facing the Oude Rijn river. Each of the air-conditioned rooms at Van der Valk Hotel Leiden has a flat-screen cable TV, seating area and a work desk. They also have a private bathroom with a shower, bath and hairdryer. The bar brasserie is situated in the monumental part of the building, where the old inn was situated in 1629. Guests can enjoy coffee, lunch, drinks and dinner here. Guests can enjoy one of the many international gourmet-style dishes including seasonal specialities such as game. On weekdays, guests benefit from a free shuttle service to the train station. Good base for a visit to wonderful Leiden

The room was an excellent size, the bed extremely comfortable and the balcony an added bonus.
There was no help with luggage, the staff though charming were over worked. I like to be served tea and coffee at breakfast even with a selfservice. The tables were not even laid for breakfast. It was too 'do it yourself'

Een zeer comfortabel hotel. Het ontbijt was zeer uitgebreid en heerlijk. We hadden gekozen voor dit hotel omdat we hier gratis konden parkeren om vervolgens met het openbaar vervoer te reizen naar het centrum. Kortom, voor ons was het totaal plaatje compleet en zeer geslaagd.

Kamers ruim , schoon, van alle gemakken voorzien. Ligging heel centraal.
Op de 4 persoons kamer was nespresso apparaat aanwezig. Echter voor 4 per. maar 2 cups. Bij navraag blijkt dat bij navulling betaald dient te worden. Geen goede service voor een toch prijzige kamer voor gezin met 2 meiden

sehr schönes hotel ausserhalb von leiden

schönes grosses zimmer mit Balkon, ruhig, trotz lage an vielbefahrener strasse; Kaffee/tee auf zimmer, Kühlschrank; tolle betten; personal freundlich, hilfsbereit und unkompliziert; restaurant im haus mit toller terrasse am wasser, ausserdem eine bar mit verpflegungsservice; gute basis für ausflüge nach den Haag, Rotterdam, keukenhof, noordwijk; gratis parkplätze, heutzutage sehr selten! den kurzen Spaziergang zum valkenburg'schen Meer sollte man unbedingt machen: absolut relaxing mit traumhafter aussicht auf den see mit sympathischem restaurant/bar...
lage etwas weit ausserhalb von leiden (45 min fussweg), aber das Hotel offeriert immerhin einen gratis shuttle-service ins Zentrum (morgens hin und abends retour)...zu wenig haken im (ansonsten grosszügigen) bad...wie in allen Hotels der welt..:-))

Frühstücksbuffet war sehr schön, Zimmer war schön und groß
Das Bad war dunkel und alt. Die Mitarbeiter nur leidlich freundlich, im Frühstücksraum waren die Mitarbeiter stets überfordert und insbesondere eine ältere Frau, eher ein General, war sehr herrisch und unfreundlich. Man fühlte sich nicht willkommen. Frühstückstische waren nie eingedeckt, alles komplette Selbstbedienung. Ein schönes Haus, doch nicht mit Herz geführt - seelenlos. Sehr schade.

Ein sehr schönes und geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Hotel mit sehr gutem Frühstück. Praktisch, dass es einen Fahrradverleih direkt im Haus gibt.
Leider gab es am üppigen Frühstücksbüffet eine Angestellte, die so unfreundlich war, das der Appetit etwas darunter gelitten hat...

De kamers waren in orde Goede parking
Het avondeten in het restaurant was niet goed, de vis was overgaar. De omgeving was nogal druk, autostrades, rotondes ed in tegenstelling wat de fotos doen vermoeden
