Such a cool place. Probably my favorite in Iceland. Mainly because its an actual sheep farm and that's just cool. Down to earth people running a farm and a hostel. Land is beautiful, need four wheel drive to drive out to Pennisula to see birds.

Ruhige Lage inmitten Natur.

Really neat trick turning two storage containers into comfortable, cozy studio apartments!

5.00/5.0
We stayed in the studio apartment made out of two shipping containers placed side by side and welded together. It sounds brutish, but the interior is clean, bright, warm, and comfortable. The room is decorated in pleasing light wood tones. There are three large windows with a great view of the hills and fields to the east of the farm. The comfortable kitchen table compliments the well stocked kitchen, making it easy to settle down after making a meal and enjoying the view. The bed is comfortable, and all the linens are clean and crisp. There is no sensation of being inside a metal container while inside the room: the paneling on the walls and ceiling along with the flooring are just like any other room. Temperature control was no problem, with electric heaters in the main room and bathroom which quickly warmed us up. The thermostats made sense, and we got the room settled to a cozy temperature quickly. This is a working sheep farm, and it was fun to walk over to the sheep and watch them watch me. I had the company of two very lively young sheep dogs while taking photos. Breakfast with Mirjam was a pleasure, and we learned about life in this quiet part of Iceland while munching on toast and jam with sliced meats. She gave us great suggestions on where to go for a bit of bird watching and to look around inside some abandoned farm buildings. We would love to go back here again, probably need to stay for 2-3 nights to be able to really explore the area.
Nothing bad at all about this place!

A little bit unpolite. Fishing in October is not permitted i was told...not very friendly. Holland i suppose. Pitty cause the place is incredible.

Had an awesome evening here! The 14km of dirt roads out the backside of the town took us a good 35 mins, but once there the secluded location was great.
